On August 18, 19 & 20, 2011, the Fargo Moorhead AM Rotary Club will be holding its second annual Lobster and Lefse Festival. This high-profile, three-day event is planned to raise money for the Fargo Moorhead Rape and Abuse Crisis Center and the YWCA Cass Clay.  This festival provides a fun atmosphere of food and entertainment with the added appeal of the uniquely creative combination of fresh Maine lobster and Norwegian style lefse. Where else but in the Red River Valley could you experience this wacky combination?

It started with three glasses of wine and an idea!  Rotarians Tom Riley and Randy Long were discussing Tom's lobster bakes at his families home in Maine when Randy, who used to manage the Downtown Street Fair, came up with a crazy idea --" Tom... I think we should have a Lobster and Lefse Festival!"  It answered the clubs question of how can we raise money for good causes around the area, while at the same time create a fun event for the community?  

Our first Lobster and Lefse Festival raised $14,000 to donate to Rape and Abuse Crisis Center, YWCA Cass Clay and Rotary Projects.  We look to you to help us change the landscape of Fargo-Moorhead through the simple act of going out for a Lobster and Lefse meal with all your friends!

About Fargo Moorhead AM Rotary Club

The Fargo Moorhead AM Rotary Club is a local service club of over 60 members who are dedicated to Rotary International’s Motto of “Service Above Self”. Our club has been raising funds for local charities in the Fargo Moorhead area for nearly twenty years, and our membership spans the local business and professional community. Our club supports projects locally and internationally, with emphases on helping threatened and disadvantaged populations, advancing education, and promoting the rights of women and children.

The Mission and Purpose

The Lobster and Lefse Festival is coordinated by the Fargo Moorhead AM Rotary Club. Portions of the proceeds from the event will go to the Fargo Rape and Abuse Crisis Center, YWCA Cass Clay and local Rotary projects. This festival will allow Fargo Moorhead AM Rotary to continue to sponsor worthwhile causes in the Fargo-Moorhead area.The Lobster and Lefse Festival is coordinated by the Fargo Moorhead AM Rotary Club.
